On 15th July 2026, Sandstorm Kenya proudly launched a meaningful collaboration with Lion Guardians, a community-led conservation organisation based in Amboseli, Kenya. Bringing together our passion for Kenyan craftsmanship and our shared commitment to protecting the country's natural heritage, this ongoing partnership is about creating something that goes beyond beautiful bags.
It is about carrying a story, supporting a community and making a lasting difference.

The Story Behind the Collaboration
In the heart of Amboseli, lions and Maasai communities have shared the same landscape for generations. Maintaining this delicate relationship requires dedication, understanding and a deep respect for both people and wildlife.
This is where Lion Guardians comes in.
Working closely with local Maasai communities, Lion Guardians combines traditional Indigenous knowledge with modern conservation practices to protect lions, reduce human-wildlife conflict and promote peaceful coexistence.
Their work includes tracking and monitoring lions, protecting livestock and empowering local communities to become active custodians of the wildlife around them.
At Sandstorm Kenya, we have always believed in celebrating the people, landscapes and stories that make Kenya extraordinary. Partnering with Lion Guardians is a natural extension of that philosophy, allowing us to use our craft as a platform to raise awareness and support conservation efforts.

The Journey draws inspiration from the ancient art of tracking, reflecting the footprints, movements and landscapes that guide the Guardians in their daily work protecting lions across Amboseli.
The Bond celebrates the connection between the Guardians and the individual lions they monitor and protect, honouring the trust, knowledge and dedication that make their conservation efforts possible.
Both prints are still available across a selection of our signature Sandstorm bag styles, bringing a distinctive conservation-inspired design to our handcrafted collections.
