THE LOVE STORY OF
LEATHER & CANVAS
We started out making luxury safari tents and for the past 20 years we’ve been making beautiful canvas and leather bags that last. The romance of safari is woven into our fabric.
THIS FAMILY WAS BUILT
BUILDING BAGS
The beauty of our country and the strength and ingenuity of our people make us who we are. This powerful connection with our home means we have strong shared values. Keeping things real by building familiarity, anchored in community to create more opportunities for incredible Kenyans.
THE SANDSTORM JOURNEY
OUR HERITAGE
Safari Tent Suppliers
We started out as luxury safari tent maker in Nairobi's Lenana Center, in 2002 we made the decision to produce luxury bags to minimise our off-cut waste.
Flagship store
Our first brick and mortar store opened in Nairobi's Village Market Mall. An exclusive Sandstorm experience.
Outside of the box
We moved our factory operations to Plains House where we spent several years growing the business and the family.
The Opportunity Factory
Opportunity Factory, opened in June 2022 on a two-acre site in Karen, Mbagathi Ridge, blends craft production, retail, and experience—first of its kind in Kenya. It's home to Sandstorm’s production, product development, and community-level craft projects like beading, sisal weaving, and crochet. The site also houses ceramics, stained glass, and screen-printing studios, alongside a multi-brand retail space.
